Importing Accounts Into Brilliance CRM

Notes on Importing

When you want to import into your CRM you need to have the following:

  1. An Excel spreadsheet with the data separated into individual columns with the proper headings (see below)
  2. The Excel spreadsheet cannot be open as it puts a lock on teh file that can cause importing issues.
  3. The first column is what wins when you are importing. Example: If you have two columns with "Account Name" in columns B and C the B column will win out and the column C will be completely ignored.
  4. The columns are shown below as (example) AccountName. You can use "Account Name" as well. The import process will ignore any spaces you have in the column header.
  5. The first row contains the column headers. If no valid column headings are found the system will not do an import.
  6. The order of the columns doesn't matter.
  7. When a column is not included the system will use whatever you have as the default for that module that is defined in that modules settings.

Note: The bigger your file the longer it will take. We recommend importing 15,000 or less lines with 100 columns or less. There is no true limit. We just find that keeping information smaller results in an improved user experience.
